Short-term childcare

Here at ABG we understand that sometimes you just need a trusted person to help with childcare in a pinch!

We are so happy to be working with Cydney Romano to fill this gap for families! To possibly work with Cydney, please fill out our contact form or call her directly at 512.633.2293.

Hi, I’m Cydney Romano. I’m a postpartum doula and family support provider with more than 35 years of experience nurturing children and supporting families. I’m now offering short-term nanny care and as-needed babysitting for families needing flexible, reliable support. My care is inclusive, affirming, and rooted in deep respect for family rhythms and values

I specialize in filling the gaps—whether your regular nanny is out sick or on vacation, your child can’t go to daycare, you’re visiting from out of town and want a date night, or you’re heading out of town and need a trusted caregiver at home. I offer vacation coverage, evening and overnight care, and flexible daytime support for families.

I connect easily with children of all ages through curiosity and creativity. I am nurturing, engaging, and creative.

I’m CPR certified, background checked, trained as a postpartum doula, and proficient in babywearing, and infant care. I homeschooled my own three children in a child-interest-directed style. As a doula, I have experience with multiples, special needs infants, and a wide range of family structures.

I’m also uniquely skilled in helping families refine their vision for a long-term caregiver. In my years as a postpartum doula, I have often helped parents reflect on what works best for their household, assisted in writing job postings, and even helped to train new caregivers in the daily routines and nuances of the home.

Outside of caregiving, I’m an active and creative person. I practice yoga, hike, garden, and work as a sculptor and jewelry designer. I’m 61 years old, a mother of three grown children, and a grandmother to an adorable toddler.

If you’re looking for warm, steady, short-term support that fits your family’s unique needs, I’d love to connect. My rates start at $25/hour.

“During my wife’s pregnancy, we have taken many classes. This was the best!”

Virtual

Support

“Loved being able to work with Allison, waiting for our first child to arrive I was filled with SO many questions. I really liked the option to meet virtually especially in the third trimester when sometimes you’re tired and don’t want to go anywhere or have anyone in the house. She was able to address all of my questions and fears and give answers as well as links to resources that would be helpful. I cannot express how invaluable it was to have someone to talk to and the convenience of working virtually was the best. ” Autumn H.

“First, Allison made us realize that our baby girl was just fine and that we were doing fine as well. From then on, she taught both my daughter and myself everything we needed to know to care for this baby. I can honestly say that my daughter is the very good mother she is today because Allison gave her the knowledge and support to become one. I will always be grateful for Allison and the help she gave us.” ~ A Loving Grandparent”
